Xpeng Expands into Europe with X9 Electric MPV
Xpeng, the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, has launched its X9 electric MPV in seven European markets: Germany, Finland, Norway, Iceland, Croatia, Slovenia, and Hungary. This move marks a significant expansion for the company in the region, but it also raises questions about the availability of charging infrastructure and the company's ability to meet demand.
The X9, available in three configurations, features an 800-volt platform, 5C fast-charging technology, and rear-wheel steering. According to Xpeng's official website, its technical specifications include a 94.8 kWh LFP and 110 kWh NMC battery sizes, with charging power peaking at 537 kW for the smaller battery and 542 kW for the larger one. The Challenges Ahead
However, most charging stations in the region are limited to 400 kW, which may not be sufficient to take full advantage of the vehicle's fast-charging capabilities.
